Valentine's Day with just the kids

Today I was determined to clean the house. Since I am waiting for a special someone to come and visit, I thought it would be nice to have a clean house for him when he returns. I made a deal with my oldest, Alison. I told her she didn't have to help me clean as long as she watched Matt. She said no problem. For awhile it worked out great. I was able to get the mud room free of mud. I got the laundry room almost free of laundry. For those who don't know when you have 5 kids your laundry room with NEVER be free of laundry...if it is just look in one of the kids' rooms and there you will find more laundry. I got the kitchen a bathroom cleaned along with the kitchen including wiping down the cabinets. Yay me!!!

Then...

The kids decided to go out and play. Our yard was just cleaned yesterday by a wonderful family who donated a day of their time to clean our yard. Through an organization called Project Evergreen. They provide green care for families of deployed soldiers. They have been short on volunteers until Disney came out with their give a day get a day program. They have had an overwhelming response to help. Thanks Disney and Project Evergreen!!

So, they were out having fun then one child comes in and says that Matt is playing with the hose. UGH!!! Ok, I go and tell him to turn it off. Then a child comes in and says that Matt took his shoes off. Ok, I got tell him to put his shoes on. Then a child comes in and says Matt has taken his clothes off. UGH UGH!!!

This is the point where I made a choice to yell at Matt or to take a picture. I chose to take a picture. So haha I take a picture of Matt playing in the water and mud. I tell Matt to put his clothes back on. Well that didn't happen.

Let's just say that one of the bathrooms is no longer clean.

  1. I could never be you (that is a compliment). You have such patience and, obviously, a sense of humor.
