After we left Salt Lake...we made plans to stop and see a good friend. We stopped in and got our first night of heat...and I can tell you I LOVED it. As long as the air was moving I was good. We had snacks for dinner, and in the morning we had a chance to have one last coffee together...I may not have been fresh from starbucks, but it was starbucks :)

someone is missing...now, where did he go...
I think he was ready to get in the car and make our way to REI...after driving with the bikes on the back of the car from WA to CO...they bike rack had been readjusted numerous times, and held together by duct tape...I was able to meet up with another friend I knew from WA at REI...I got myself a new bike rack...which didn't last long either...after REI and a stop at Target...got back on the road to Kansas City, MO.
In Kansas City, we stopped in with a friend I met online, and had a chance to meet IRL on my way to WA...She lived in Austin at the time. When I saw I was going to be in her neck of the woods on my next move, I decided I wanted to make it a tradition to stop and see her every time we move. This next stop was so fun for the kids we forgot to take pictures. Mickey even had a friend to play with. We had a great breakfast. Then we fiddled around with the bike rack, then we took about 30 minutes to look for the key to the car. Another late start....By this time Eric was almost to GA, and I wanted to get there too. I had planned on staying around the Chattanooga, TN area, but I couldn't find a free place to stay. I had an offer for a place south of Atlana...could I do it? Could I make if from Kansas City to Atlanta??? Sure I could!!! We did it! We made it to GA. We had a wonderful place to stay. They even had a pool. The kids were able to take a late night swim and wiggle their wiggles out. The next morning was like Christmas....I was only 4 hours away from my new home. I got up really early, loaded the kids and was out of there :) |
