Living Near the Capital of Our State

We live within minutes of Olympia, Washington. I remember arriving 3 years ago, and telling the kids where we lived. They were really into state capitals, so they were super stoked to be near Olympia. That was the last that we had really talked about it, until now. Matt our youngest son, number 4 of 5, started preschool this year at the Hands on Children's Museum of Olympia. I was doing the traditional first day of school pictures, and it hit me...I should take his picture in front of the capitol building.  How many kids get their first day of school picture taken in front of the capitol??  I thought this is one picture to be placed in the special category of "not too many kids can say this".

As we were taking our picture, a friend stopped by on their way to the first day of school. I decided they needed this special picture in front of the capitol, too.  So I took a picture of this family...and then another family came by... and I set up shop as Carrie'sfirstdayofschoolpictureinfrontofthecapitolpicturetaker... just kidding, LOL
There have been times this year while Matt has been in school, when I have gone for a run by the capitol,  just walked around by the fountain or just driving by, thinking I should come and take some more pictures. Today I did just that. It was a sunny day in Washington...yes, another one...imagine that :) While I was waiting for Matt to get done with preschool,  I decided to let Willow get down in the grass so I could get some shots of her playing. I was joined by a friend and her daughter.
