I've been meaning to write this blog post for a long time. Really, since July. I finally uploaded the picture to my computer so I could blog about it. Yes, I know it's October.
How does this picture show you how "everyday" God can be? There are lots of things in this picture that show a person God in their everyday life. Examples are a sunny day in Washington, a wonderful church camp that I can send all of my kids to, the volunteer job that I was chosen for (all I had to do was go around and take pictures...super fun). However, those are wonderful things, it is not what I see. I see a goofy kid with suntan lotion, yes, I know you do too.
This goofy kid represents the meaning of "an everyday" God. I was at Summer Hummer, a church camp, in Olympia, Washington. I was walking out to take some pictures of some campers going on the zip line, and I had Willow on my back. Because it was a sunny day in Washington, I was thinking to myself that I needed to find some suntan lotion to put on Willow. I knew many of the camp counselors, and thought I could find someone I knew to get some sunscreen. So as I am walking out to the zip line this goofy kid jumps out in front of me and shoves this bottle of sunscreen in my face. I was so amazed how fast that God was able to answer my everyday need. I asked the goofy kid how he knew I needed sunscreen for the baby? He replied that he wanted to take a goofy picture with his sunscreen. So I took his picture and he let me have some sunscreen for Willow.
It was really neat how God was able to provide me with what I needed in a place I didn't expect to receive it. It wasn't going to be hard to find someone that I knew with lotion. It doesn't matter how big or small; God cares.
Hahahaha I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Myyyyyyyy God is so GREAT, so strong and so mighty there's nothing my God cannot do! The mountains are his, the oceans are his, the skies are his handiwork too! .... WA State is his, the sunshine is his, the sunblock and kids are his too!
ReplyDeletesweet! God is amazing - we need to praise Him in the big and the small - He does care about all those details! What a great reminder! HE is worthy of praise!
